Have you ever thought about what the future holds for you? I’m not talking about which college you plan to attend or what major you will choose. No, I’m talking about life after college. I know when I was a senior in high school, I envisioned a life filled with adventure. My plan was to become a veterinarian and head off to Africa to help endangered animals. I was particularly interested in studying the big cats. I would dream about hiding in the brush just a few feet away from a pride of lions or playfully tagging along with a cheetah during a hunt. Eventually, I would settle down and open a sanctuary to help increase awareness about these majestic creatures.
Unfortunately, I never made my high school dream a reality, but that doesn’t mean my life isn’t filled with adventure. In fact, I have two feline friends at home who keep me on my toes. They may be small in size, but they have attitudes to rival any jungle panther or African lion. And, instead of helping endangered animals, I’m helping another struggling species — broke students, which brings me to the reason for this post.
