Are you interested in studying abroad? Thinking of going to college in Scotland? Well, here’s a scholarship opportunity that is fit for royalty.
Recently, the University of St. Andrews announced that it will create a scholarship in honor of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This honor, also a wedding gift, was presented to the couple as part of the university’s 600th Anniversary Campaign.
The scholarship is worth 70,000 pounds (about $115,000). It will cover tuition, accommodation, and living expenses. The money is intended for a four-year undergraduate degree in science, arts, medicine, or divinity. All nationalities are eligible to apply. More importantly, the scholarship will be awarded to a student who lacks the financial means to attend the college.
“This will be the first scholarship of its kind at St. Andrews and a reflection of this university’s commitment to ensure that we find, attract and support the most gifted students from anywhere in the world,” said Louise Richardson, the university’s principal and vice-chancellor.
