This scholarship is available for Japanese nationals who are pursuing a Ph.D. in macroeconomics at a university located outside Japan. Students should not be older than 27 at time of application, and should obtain their degree by 33.

This award covers all reasonable expenses for two years of graduate study, including one round-trip airfare, full university tuition and fees, medical insurance and related fees, a book allowance, and a monthly living allowance.
