This award is for Minnesota resident students who have a child 12 years old or younger and are attending or planning to attend a Minnesota public or private postsecondary institution. The student must demonstrate financial need.

Up to $2,800 for each eligible child per academic year. Assistance may cover up to 40 hours of child care per week for each eligible child. Recipients are eligible to receive assistance for up to eight full-time semesters or twelve full-time quarters of postsecondary education or until the completion of a baccalaureate degree, whichever occurs first. Recipients must maintain continued enrollment and re-apply each year. The institution may increase the maximum award by 10 percent for higher infant care costs in certain counties.
