This scholarship is available for American Indian and Alaskan Native undergraduate students who are studying pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, or pre-podiatry. Priority is given to students in their junior and senior years, with freshmen and sophomores funded only if there are remaining funds available.

The award includes the following: a stipend of approximately $1,250 per month for the 10-month period of Aug. 1, 2013 - May 31, 2014 (this amount will be pro-rated for part-time students); all tuition and required fees at the institution; and a lump sum of $400 for full-time students and $200 for part-time students to cover other reasonable educational expenses. This pregraduate support is available for up to four academic years or eight years for part time, which is four ten-month periods of pre-graduate education full time or eight ten-month periods part time, which, upon completion, will enable the student to qualify for enrollment in a medical or dental school. Only those students who meet the continuation eligibility requirements and re-apply for continuation will be given priority consideration for additional periods of support.
