This scholarship is available for American Indian and Alaskan Native undergraduate students. Students must enroll in a program of study for the following priority career programs: pre-nursing, pre-medical technology, pre-pharmacy, pre-dietetics, pre-social work, pre-physical therapy, pre-engineering, pre-sanitarian (environmental health), pre-occupational therapy, and pre-clinical psychology.

The award includes the following: a stipend of approximately $1,250 per month for the 10-month period of Aug. 1, 2013 - May 31, 2014 (this amount will be pro-rated for part-time students); all tuition and required fees at his/her institution; and a lump sum of $400 for full-time students and $200 for part-time students to cover other reasonable educational expenses. The program makes scholarship support available for up to two academic years full time or up to four academic years part time of compensatory or pre-professional education, which, upon completion, will enable the student to qualify for enrollment or re-enrollment in a health professions school. Only those students who meet the continued eligibility requirements and have been recommended for continuation will be given priority consideration for additional periods of scholarship support. Scholarship support to pre-professional students will be paid for 10 months each academic year.
