The scholarship is open to U.S. legal residents of the six New England states, namely, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, who are high school seniors planning to attend a U.S. accredited college or university as a full-time student in the fall of 2013 Students must also have a minimum 3.0 grade point average; participated in a varsity sport in high school; performed volunteer work in his/her community and display a high degree of sportsmanship while participating in sports in high school.
