This award is available to African American seniors planning to graduate in 2014 from a Butler or Warren County, Ohio, high school. Selection is based on both academic and non-academic achievements as well as financial need.
$5,000 annually, renewable for three years. Authorized expenses are tuition, academic fees, books, and room & board. The annual renewal of the scholarship is determined by the Middletown Community Foundation. Renewability is based on the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress as a full-time student and the submission of an annual student statement. The Middletown Community Foundation will issue an annual scholarship check in August made payable to the student's college or university, but mailed directly to the student. The student is responsible for delivering the check to the appropriate college or university office for deposit, and for maintaining all records of receipt.
