This award is available for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington state who are studying in the fields of sex education, sex therapy, research, or something that furthers the understanding of human sexuality, especially alternative sexuality. Preference is given to students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), members of LGBT families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.
The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $10,000. The average award amount per recipient last year was $3,300. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.
