Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG)

This award is for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are Texas residents or are non-Texas residents but are recognized as a National Merit Finalists. Students must be enrolled at least 3/4 time at an eligible private, non-profit colleges or universities in Texas for, and must demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount:

Based on the awards amounts from the previous academic year, awards are for up to $3,518 annually. However, students with exceptional need (those whose Expected Family Contributions are less than or equal to $1,000) may receive awards of up to $5,277 in a given year. Awards may not exceed the student's financial need or the amount of tuition the student is paying in excess of what he or she would pay at a public institution.

Awards my be renewed, as determined by the college or university. Students should contact the financial aid office of the eligible postsecondary institution that he/she is planning to attend for additional details.
