U.S. students enrolled in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade are eligible to apply for this award. Students must demonstrate an enthusiasm for math and create a power point presentation that demonstrates how important math will be to the exploration of Mars and other planets.
Please note: Although the application deadline for this award has passed, we wanted you to know about this award as a possibility for next year. $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Each recipient's school will also receive a $1,000 grant to be utilized for math-related programs (home-schooled students will not receive this matching grant). Students may re-apply each year that they are eligible for the program, and may receive an award no more than four times.
