A U.S. student who is a high school senior planning to enroll at a two- or four-year engineering or science program at an ABET-accredited institution, and is the child or grandchild of a current SAE Detroit Section member, is eligible for this award. An eligible applicant must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated financial need.

$2,500 annually, renewable for three additional years if the student maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and remains in good standing at his/her college or university. The student must also submit a renewal form each year by June 30. A student who completed a two-year program may continue for an additional consecutive two years at a second school offering a complete engineering or science degree.
