GCSAA Scholars Competition

International and U.S. undergraduate students who are members of GCSAA are eligible to apply for this award. Students must have completed their first year in a program related to golf/turfgrass management.

Award Amount:

The Mendenhall Award winner will receive $6,000. The Allan MacCurrach Award winner will receive $5,000. The Mendenhall and MacCurrach recipients also receive an all-expense paid trip to the Golf Industry Show. The Ambassador Award winner will receive $2,500 if ranked third through fifth place, or $2,000 if ranked sixth place or below. Scholar and Merit award winners receive awards ranging from $500 to $2,000. Previous recipients are eligible to re-apply if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

The first-place winner will be honored as the Mendenhall Award Winner. The second-place winner will be honored as the Allan MacCurrach Award Winner. One outstanding international student will receive the Ambassador Award. (If an international student is selected as the first- or second-place student overall, the Ambassador Award will go to the next highest ranked international student.) There will be additional Scholar and Merit awards given. Last year, there were 14 scholarships awarded total.
