This award is available for international and U.S. college sophomores or juniors who are pursing a career in metallurgical and/or materials science engineering with an emphasis on both traditional (aluminum, magnesium, beryllium, titanium, lithium, and other reactive metals) and emerging light metals (composites, laminates, etc.). Students must also have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

$4,000 annually, non-renewable. Additionally, each scholarship recipient will be given the opportunity of selecting up to $300 in TMS Light Metals Division-sponsored conference proceedings or textbooks to be donated to the recipient's school's library in his/her name, and up to $400 in books for the award recipient. As the award is preferably presented during the TMS Light Metal Division luncheon at the TMS Annual Meeting, up to $600 in travel expenses is available.
