MTNA Senior Performance Competition

This music performance competition is open to U.S. students who are 15-18 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2015; one entrant in each piano duo may be 11-18 years of age. The categories for entry in the competition are: brass (trumpet, horn, euphonium, trombone, tuba); solo piano; piano duet (one piano/four hands); string (violin, viola, cello, string bass); voice; and woodwind (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone).

Please note: Although the application deadline for this award has passed, we wanted you to know about this award as a possibility for next year. Often, scholarship providers offer similar scholarships each year. This award is scheduled to be updated within the next few months. Please check back for more information at a later date.

Award Amount:

Awards are given for each category (brass, solo piano, piano duet, string, voice, and woodwind) as follows: national winner, $2,000; second place, $1,000; and merit award, $100. Please note that piano duet awards are given to the duo, not the individual performers. In the solo piano category, the winner of the best Chopin performance will receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship. The teachers of the national winners in each category will receive $200.
