Lee-Jackson Foundation Scholarship Program

U.S. high school juniors and seniors who are residents of Virginia may enter this essay contest. Students must submit an essay of any length on General Robert E. Lee or General Thomas J. 'Stonewall' Jackson.

Award Amount:

One $1,000 and one $2,000 scholarships will be awarded in each of Virginia's eight public high school regions, as well as for the top entries from private schools. An additional award of $8,000 will go to the public school, private school, or home-schooled student who authors the essay judged to be the best in the state. This student will be designated as the J. Clifford Miller, Jr. Scholar. In addition, a $1,000 award will be given to a school in each of the nine judging sectors (eight public school regions and one private/homeschooled region) in the name of the high school teacher or adviser who sponsors the most participating students in that sector.
