This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are considered a minority and planning to attend an eligible college or university in Florida. Priority will be given to direct descendants of African-American Rosewood families affected by the events of January 1923.

Up to $4,000 annually, renewable providing the student completes the FAFSA each year. Recipients are eligible to receive an award for a maximum of 110 percent of the number of credit hours to complete the program of study in which enrolled, or until receipt of a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first. Award amounts may vary depending on the available funds.
- Up to 25 awards offered annually. In the 2013-2014 academic year, there were seven new awards disbursed.
