Actuarial Diversity Scholarship

This scholarship is available for U.S. and international high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (emphasis on math and actuarial courses); high school seniors must also have a minimum ACT math score of 28 or SAT math score of 600. Students must intend on pursuing a career in the actuarial profession, and must have at least one birth parent who is a member of an eligible minority group (black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American).

Scholarships are awarded as follows: High school senior applying for his/her freshman year of college - $1,000. College freshman applying for his/her sophomore year of college - $2,000. College sophomore applying for his/her junior year of college - $2,000. College junior applying for his/her senior year of college - $3,000. College senior applying for graduate school or a continuing graduate student - $3,000. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable. Each scholarship recipient will be assigned an actuarial mentor as a personal resource to answer questions about the actuarial field and actuarial exams and to offer assistance in pursuit of a career in the actuarial profession.

The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants. Last year, 29 awards were offered.
