Current undergraduate students who have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and are residents of Craighead County, Arkansas are eligible for this award. Students must be single and have custody over one or more children under the age of 18, be the head of household and live at or near poverty level.

Awards are distributed as follows: Full-time students with 12 or more credit hours per semester - $500 Part-time students with 9 to 11 credit hours per semester - $375 Part-time students with 6 to 8 credit hours per semester - $250 Summer semester (must have a minimum of 3 credit hours) - $250 Please note that part-time scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds. All awards are non-renewable. The student may reapply each semester he/she is attending school, but he/she must fill out an application for each semester an award is sought. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, utility bills, car maintenance, childcare, or any other financial need that contributes to the recipient's success in school.
- The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Typically, the Craighead County Single Parent Scholarship Fund gives 12 scholarships per academic term for fall and spring, and 6 scholarships for summer.
