This award is available for South Dakota residents who are planning to attend an eligible postsecondary institution in South Dakota. Students must have an ACT score of 24 or higher or an SAT score of 1090 or higher, and have completed a required high school curriculum with a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The award amount is for $5,000 over four years of undergraduate enrollment or until attaining a bachelor's degree. Recipients will receive $1,000 each year for the first three years of attendance. During the recipient's fourth year, he/she will receive $2,000. One half of the scholarship will be distributed at the beginning of the fall semester and at the beginning of the spring semester. Students must maintain consecutive enrollment with a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or higher and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of instruction per year to continue receiving awards.
